The Road to Unfreedom – Timothy Snyder

I really loved the last two Snyder books I read, so I wasn’t ready to feel so confused in the first chapter. It seemed disjointed and more jargony. It got better, but it was a struggle. A lot of things were clarified for me (like the fact that is really was Russia who shot down that Malaysian Air flight over Ukraine in 2014 or that Putin is pretty much making refugees in Syria, and now in Ukraine, just to destabilize the west; oh, and that our former president and everyone in a traitor and a Russian agent). Still, reading it was a slog.
